What's the interview process like?

At Kroger, we use a behavior-based approach to interview applicants for most roles. It works like this: the interviewer will ask you to describe specific examples of how you have performed or responded to a certain situation. Your responses help give us an idea of how you might fit with the needs of the position, and allows our team to identify top talent based on relevant experience, attitude and skills.

There are a lot of locations for Kroger jobs; how do I pick the location where I want to work?

When looking on our job site, you can search by location address or proximity to a desired zip code. Go to jobs.kroger.com and focus your search with that in mind.

Is a drug test required as part of my application?

Certain roles do require a mandatory drug screen as a condition of employment. If you've received an offer for a role that requires a drug screen, you'll be notified at the time of the offer. You'll be prompted with next steps during the screening process. The drug test must be completed within 24 hours of accepting your job offer. Failure to complete a required drug screen in the allotted time may result in the withdrawal of your conditional offer of employment.

Is a background check required as part of my application?

All Kroger job offers require successful completion of a background check, which is part of our pre-employment screening process. The background check is initiated after you have accepted your conditional job offer and is managed by one of our partners.

How do I check on the status of my application?

You can log on to jobs.kroger.com to check the status of your application. Go to Candidate Profile and navigate to 'status' or call the service center for help.

Does Kroger have jobs other than grocery store positions?

Yes! As America's largest grocer, we have endless opportunities for jobs…many that you might not even know about. You can search by 'department' such as Technology, Manufacturing, Accounting, Warehouse, Grocery or, you can actually load your resume use our 'Get Matched' feature to make job recommendations.

I am locked out of the account I used for my application.

If you get locked out of the system, it's probably because your made a couple wrong keystrokes and our system automatically locks up to protect your security. Just go to 'forgot password' and follow the prompts to re-set. After you establish and new password, you should be good to go.

Lisa Lipa is Strategy Lead, Kroger e-Commerce Accelerator. This is a process of discovery and involves in-depth research from the market, the business, and customers. There are two things that Lisa loves most about her job: "The first is the people, because at the end of the day, the company you keep is always what makes the difference. Angelina Vanater—Store Leader QFC

Angie Vanater started working as a Courtesy Clerk at QFC 12 years ago. Today she's making customers and associates smile as Store Leader.
